The 2011 edition of the International Builders' Show in Orlando will feature an elaborate display of Southern Pine lumber products. The exhibit by the Southern Pine Council (SPC) - W5949 - will feature structural framing, treated and specialty items. Centered in the 12x20-foot exhibit space is a demonstration panel showing Southern Pine flooring in two grades and finishes. You can add their booth information to your International Builders' Show web site's "My Show Planner" by clicking here.
A literature rack made of finger-jointed SP studs stands atop the flooring, offering 20 different publications to builders stopping by. New to SPC's Lumber Library is a 12-page booklet, "Southern Pine Decks and Porches" outlining the steps builders and advanced do-it-yourselfers need to follow for successful outdoor projects using pressure-treated Southern Pine materials. IBS attendees can pick up a copy, along with a CD containing all SPC publications, or a handy pocket-sized card with four of the most commonly used span tables on it.
Raised Floor Living, the SPC/APA-sponsored campaign aimed at building professionals is a prominent theme of the display; a large graphic backdrop promotes raised wood floors. Sections of treated Southern Pine 5/4x6 radius edge decking will be shown in two of the latest preservative types. A pair of counters, paneled with SP specialty patterns in a variety of profiles and finishes, are topped with 1x4 C&Btr flooring and treated porch flooring. SFPA's Russell Richardson, director of treated and industrial markets, will be on hand to promote SPC's online Product Locator, field green building questions, and be available for media interviews.
"Builders attending this event will find the SPC exhibit to be their best resource for information about all types of building applications, whether it's treated decks and porches, structural framing, specialty patterns or engineered components," said Richard Wallace, SFPA's vice president of communications.
