ATLANTA, GA -- ToolBank USA last week announced a $1 million commitment from Stanley Black & Decker in support of its national expansion plan. The investment, which will be fulfilled over five years, marks the ToolBank's largest pledge to-date and will support the ToolBank's growth in strategic markets across the United States, including Charlotte, Baltimore and Cincinnati. ToolBank USA is championing a national movement to provide an abundance of high-quality tools to non-profits and their volunteers through the replication of the ToolBank program.
"I am thrilled to count Stanley Black & Decker as an important strategic partner of ToolBank USA, one whose support has been integral since the national program's inception in 2008," said Corky Martin, Board President of ToolBank USA and Product Development Merchant with The Home Depot. "This grant will provide vital resources as we continue to build out a national network of ToolBanks that provide high-quality tools to non-profits organizations and volunteers across the country."
"ToolBank USA's mission to provide tools and solutions to people who are committed to bettering their community is exactly what we're all about at Stanley Black & Decker," said Tim Perra, Global Communications Director, Stanley Black & Decker. "This donation is about helping a strong, smart organization to bring its phenomenal work to even more communities across the country. We immediately saw the power of the ToolBank mission and the impact that this organization can have on communities throughout the world. We have been continually impressed by the ToolBank's innovative tool-lending system and we are proud to continue our support of this important organization."
Each ToolBank provides high-quality tools to non-profits and their volunteers to support successful community efforts. ToolBank USA has developed an innovative and highly effective lending system infrastructure, including tool tracking software and online tool requests, to avoid drawn-out lending procedures. A ToolBank empowers organizations and volunteers to spend valuable hours in the field, doing the work that fulfills their mission and making their community a better, safer place to live and work.
ToolBank USA currently has affiliates in Atlanta, Charlotte and Baltimore, with expansion targeted to seven more cities over the coming year. ToolBank USA will continue to work collaboratively with non-profit organizations and their volunteers nationwide as partners working towards positive, effective community revitalization.
