While quality connections have always been a hallmark of the Show, there's an extra emphasis on that aspect this year with the theme "Powered by Connections" taking center stage at PCBC 2012, said Linda Baysari, the Show's Senior Vice President for Conventions and Meetings.
"We've put a great deal of work into creating a unique tradeshow setting that provides educational opportunities on the exhibit floor, and this year we wanted to take it a step further by providing more intimate settings to foster and strengthen connections between suppliers and buyers," said Baysari. "We're also thrilled that Leading Builders of America has endorsed PCBC as its official annual event and will be sending teams of national and regional buyers to meet with exhibitors and participate in our new Key Buyers Club."
Along with the new Key Buyers Club, the show floor will feature the new Sustainable Living Showcase featuring products and ideas that explore the elements of sustainable living, both indoors and out. PCBC will also introduce a new Energy + Technology Pavilion designed to tackle energy efficiency and new technologies with products in home entertainment, home health, home security and energy management.
Also key to the PCBC experience are the educational opportunities presented each year, and 2012 will be no different as PCBC Presents a series of conferences and forums throughout the two-day show. Back by popular demand are the Capital Markets Forum, Consumer Insights Forum, 50+ Housing Forum and the Multifamily Trends Conference, the latter of which was once again produced in partnership with Marcus and Millichap. New to the show this year is the Design Trends Forum as well as a host of new workshops and tours that will begin on Tuesday, June 26.
PCBC will also be hosting two new keynote speakers to open the show on both Wednesday and Thursday. Opening the show on Wednesday will be Sir Ken Robinson, PhD, an international leader in the development of education, creativity and innovation and whose videos from the TED Conference in 2006 and 2010 have been seen by an estimated 200 million people in 150 countries. Opening the show on Thursday will be Gary Vaynerchuk, a hugely successful entrepreneur and social media guru, and author of the New York Times bestseller The Thank You Economy.
"We are very excited about all of the new events and partnerships for this year's show," said Baysari. "We believe exhibitors and attendees will come away from PCBC 2012 feeling more prepared for the housing recovery having learned from our educational programs and having developed powerful new connections both on and off the show floor."
Fostering connections should be easy at the prestigious award presentations that have become staples of the show each year. The Annual Hall of Fame Dinner and Awards Ceremony will kick things off on Tuesday, June 26, while the Gold Nugget Awards will close the show on Thursday, June 28.
And it wouldn't be PCBC without the innovative products and services featured by hundreds of leading building industry suppliers occupying the show floor.
