CARY, NC -- Ply Gem announced its entrance into the trim and mouldings business last month with the introduction of the cellular PVC Ply Gem Trim and Mouldings category. As a leading manufacturer of nearly every product for the outside of the home, this introduction adds to Ply Gem's already extensive line of more than 20 exterior home product categories, including siding, windows, patio doors, stone veneer, fence, rail, rainware, designer accents, accessories and more.
Cellular PVC trim and mouldings are a low-maintenance alternative to traditional wood trim, designed to work well with nearly any siding type. "We have developed the Trim and Mouldings product category to further align Ply Gem's value proposition, offering customers a holistic exterior solution from a single manufacturer through The Designed Exterior," said Jerry Blais, vice president, marketing, Ply Gem siding group. "This is a significant launch for Ply Gem, providing high-quality, aesthetically appealing products with tremendous design potential."
Ply Gem Trim is available in smooth or an authentic woodgrain finish, but unlike wood and treated wood, the products are made from cellular PVC and absorb no moisture. The trim and mouldings are also resistant to dirt, rotting, cracking or warping, and hold paint better than wood, especially in damp climates and extreme temperatures. Ply Gem Trim and Mouldings are also manufactured without cellulose, making them resistant to insects, termites and other pests.
To assist builders and contractors with creating architectural appeal in residential home exteriors, through a comprehensive design guide, Ply Gem provides recommendations on how to use trim boards, corners, post wraps and accents found on seven popular home styles - Craftsman, French Country, Prairie, Tuscan, Folk Victorian, Shingle, and Georgian. The Ply Gem Trim and Mouldings line complements The Designed Exterior by Ply Gem, a complete exterior home design solution, combining different product styles, colors and textures for a customizable, low maintenance, architectural exterior.
