With the housing market enjoying its first warming cycle since 2007, PCBC, the industry's most celebrated event, is following suit. Held annually in San Francisco from its inception in 1959 until 2012, PCBC will move to the San Diego Convention Center for its 2013 event, June 5-6. The shift marks the beginning of an alternating year rotation between the two cities.
The move was celebrated throughout San Diego's business community, as civic leaders cheered the arrival of one of the largest and longest-tenured housing events in the nation. Award-winning sportscaster and longtime San Diegan Dick Enberg was among the city's luminaries to extend a warm welcome.
"We're pleased that PCBC has chosen this year to join us in America's finest city," Enberg said.
Highlights of this year's event include keynotes by two of the most influential business thinkers of our time: economic, demographic and technological trend-watcher Richard Florida, bestselling author of "The Rise of the Creative Class" and "Who's Your City?" along with bestselling author Daniel Pink, whose latest book, "To Sell Is Human", is #1 on the New York Times business hardcover list -- while his previous book, "Drive", remains near the top of the business paperback list.
The exhibit floor is already sold out--another sign that the housing industry has bounced back. The floor will also be home once again to the Key Buyers Club, a program that facilitates private meetings between exhibitors and purchasing teams from the largest homebuilders in America
Registration and housing for PCBC 2013 are now open and can be accessed at www.pcbc.com. The conference has also created a video celebrating its new San Diego locale: www.youtube.com/watch?v=zS3EsznGon0.
