BAYPORT, MN -- Andersen Corporation today announced the appointment of Greg Thompson as Marketing director of the Andersen Division effective May 30. In his new role, Thompson will be responsible for marketing of the company's flagship brand, including the Andersen Architectural Collection, storm doors, and Andersen® wood clad and composite windows and patio doors.
"Greg has great brand and business-to-business experience selling in a dealer-based environment," said Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Sal Abbate. "He exudes the values of Andersen."
Thompson's experience includes working with well-known and environmentally-oriented consumer brands, most recently with Polaris Industries' Global Electric Motorcars where he delivered an award-winning brand repositioning, led new model year product planning, and significantly contributed to dealer sales growth through retail and lead-optimization opportunities. His previous experience includes employment at General Mills where he worked with household brands like Cascadian Farm and Old El Paso.
Thompson is a graduate of West Point with a degree in civil engineering. He fulfilled his service commitment to the Army as a lieutenant and eventually captain in 2001. He is a recent graduate of the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, where he received a master's degree in finance and marketing. He is a Detroit native and now lives in the Twin Cities with his family.
