ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL -- Rollex Corporation has introduced a line of residential steel siding featuring a durable new energy-saving color coating that can help reduce home cooling costs and enhance indoor comfort while resisting damage from hail and repelling dirt and grime.
Rollex's new Aurora Steel Siding features a proprietary new topcoat that incorporates solar reflective pigments to deflect the sun's heat. Rollex's Nova-UVX4000 coating also has embedded nylon fibers for scratch and abrasion protection. The coating system is exclusive to Rollex.
Aurora's fluoropolymer coating, with its polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) resins, has an advanced low-gloss finish that closely resembles a painted wood surface -- and a longer warranty against chalking and fading.
Rollex's Aurora siding comes with a limited lifetime warranty that includes 35-year chalk and fade coverage and 50-year hail protection. The siding is guaranteed not to rust, peel, or crack.
The coating, which is Energy-Star compliant, is based on a formulation proven successful on metal roof systems, which bear the direct brunt of everything nature can hurl at them, Rollex notes.
Aurora siding profiles include double 4" horizontal, resembling a pair of narrow wood clapboards and suited to traditional houses; double 5" horizontal, suited to larger houses; double 5" Dutch lap; with a distinctive beveled groove for a sense of depth; single 8" horizontal, resembling a length of wood lap siding; and vertical board-and-batten, a design often used as an accent under gables.
Embossed with a wood-grain pattern, Aurora is available in eight colors: Snowmist, Pacific Blue, Barn Red, Norwegian Wood, Evening Grey, Sandcastle, Forest Green, and Sungold.
Aurora panels come in 12-foot lengths. Seamless steel trim coil also is available in the same finish and colors.
Aurora siding comprises 28-gauge hot-dipped galvanized steel core with a corrosion resistant coating on the back and, on the front, a pretreatment layer, protective coating, and the Nova-UVX4000 coating with its solar reflective pigments.
Well-Suited for Field Fabrication
Rollex says Aurora's coating will interest siding contractors who fabricate metal siding and trim on site. Because of its superior adhesive properties and flexibility, the coating on Aurora seamless steel siding coil won't lift and separate when the coil is bent into shape, reducing waste and on-site man hours.
