BOISE, ID -- BMC, one of the nation's leading providers of building materials and construction services, today announced the company has completed an acquisition that will expand its millwork offerings in Northern California, a key U.S. market for homebuilders, and strengthening the company's business in the Central Valley of California.
BMC Chief Executive Officer, Peter Alexander, said that on November 11, 2013, consistent with BMC's strategic plan, the company completed the acquisition of assets and operations of Sacramento-based Western Building Supply, enabling an expansion of its millwork offerings in Northern California. Western Building Supply's assets include Western Building Specialties (WBS) and Western Bath and Shower (WBSI).
"WBS has built, over a 60-year period, a reputation for providing quality products and reliable services" Alexander said. "We are very excited about serving customers through the combined strength of WBS and BMC at our facilities located in Sacramento, Fresno and Modesto."

The company has 29 lumber yards, 15 truss manufacturing facilities and 24 millwork operations in ten of the top 25 single-family construction markets.
