The treated wood industry has adopted stock labeling for ease in identifying preservative-treated sawn wood lumber products that are in compliance with the International Building Code® (IBC) and International Residential Code® (IRC). The end tags will have easily identifiable markings for both American Wood Protection Association (AWPA) Standard U1 and ICC Evaluation Service, LLC (ICC-ES) preservative-treated wood products.
"This new labeling information is being incorporated into the 2014 edition of SFPA's publication, Pressure-Treated Southern Pine, helping specifiers and users of treated lumber," noted Eric Gee, SFPA's director of treated market business development. "This new edition will be available as a PDF download at www.SouthernPine.com early next year," he added.
