The Softwood Lumber Board (SLB) is sponsoring a trio of displays and demonstrations at the upcoming JLC Live trade show, to be held March 21-22 in Providence, Rhode Island. Under the banner "Wood, Naturally" SFPA will joinCalifornia Redwood Association, Northeast Lumber Manufacturers Association, Western Red Cedar Lumber Association and Southeastern Lumber Manufacturers Association in a cooperative 25x25-foot exhibit, extolling the merits of American softwoods. Graphics will telegraph both product and green building messages, and provide opportunities for attendees to ask questions of association representatives, collect literature and learn how to source products. Each association will be listed individually in the show program guide with complete contact information. SFPA's Eric Gee is coordinating the logistics of this highly visible display, to be located near the entrance of the exhibit hall.
"Here is a prime opportunity to influence the hands-on users of our products," Eric said. "JLC Live in Providence is a very popular annual event in the Northeast. More than 7,000 builders and remodelers attended this show last year," he added.
During the course of this event, SLB is also sponsoring two live demonstrations on the show floor. "Building Structurally Safe Decks" will focus on the deck framing substructure, using pressure-treated Southern Pine materials. Another demonstration titled "Crafting Dramatic Interior Ceilings" will spotlight interior applications for wood.
