The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported last week that the construction sector added 16,000 jobs nationwide, part of the 248,000 jobs added overall to the U.S. economy in September.
Within the industry, employment in residential building increased by 6,000. Residential specialty trade contractors also fared well, with over 5,600 finding employment. Over the year, construction has added 230,000 jobs, according to the agency.
