WALNUT CREEK, CA -- The New Home Company, a California homebuilder and land developer, announced that Brian Olin has been named Bay Area President.
Olin, based in NEW HOME's Walnut Creek, Calif. office, has been promoted from his position as Senior Vice President. As Bay Area President, he will oversee the planning, development and implementation of the company's communities in the region. NEW HOME is focusing on the construction of townhomes, condominiums, mixed-use neighborhoods and single-family detached residences from the San Francisco peninsula through the Silicon Valley and in the East Bay.
"We see the Bay Area region as key to our strategic expansion as a company," said Kevin Carson, NEW HOME President Northern California. "Brian's extensive knowledge of the Bay Area housing market and the business relationships he has developed here make him uniquely qualified for this position. His leadership is exactly what is needed as we proceed to open new communities throughout the region and we expect our operations to benefit greatly from his appointment as Bay Area President."
Since joining NEW HOME in 2012, Olin has played an integral role in establishing the company's presence in the Bay Area. He oversaw the planning and development of the company's first community in the region, Rose Lane in Larkspur, where sales of 85 residences were completed in late 2014. The Bay Area team opened the master-planned community of Orchard Park in San Jose in the fall of 2014, where more than one-half of the 239 homes have been sold to date. Last month, NEW HOME opened Woodbury, a collection of 56 luxury flats in downtown Lafayette in the East Bay; and this summer sales will commence at Tidelands, a collection of 76 contemporary residences overlooking the San Francisco Bay in San Mateo.
In addition, NEW HOME is the master developer of Foster Square, a highly anticipated mixed-use community now under construction in downtown Foster City, and there are communities in the planning stages in Fremont and Santa Clara.
"The establishment and growth of The New Home Company in the Bay Area has been a rewarding experience," said Olin. "The team continues to excel and I am honored to have such a talented group of professionals as my colleagues, all of whom strive each day to do the best work of their lives."
Olin has 18 years of experience in the homebuilding industry, spanning a wide range of disciplines. He began his career in 1997 at Greystone Homes, and spent from 1999 through 2011 with Lennar Corporation. At Lennar, Olin's work included sales and marketing, project management, forward planning, land development, entitlements and land acquisition. In 2005, he was promoted to Division President of the Lennar Bay Area Land Division, responsible for one of the largest asset portfolios in the nation. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of HomeAid.
