Two outstanding speakers will be on the agenda of SFPA's 2015 Annual Meeting, to be held October 7-9 at the Marriott Resort at Grande Dunes in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
On Thursday, October 8, the General Session will feature Henry Spelter of Forest Economic Advisors, the well-known industry analyst and author of more than a hundred reports covering developments in wood products markets. His career has spanned three decades at the USDA Forest Products Laboratory in Madison, Wisconsin, where he was responsible for the analysis of lumber and wood panel industries.
Concluding our General Session agenda will be Dr. James E. Fickle, a history professor at the University of Memphis. Dr. Fickle is the author of numerous books and research papers centered around the forest products industry, most notably trade associations and the historical development of forestry as a profession. He has completed a history of the Forest Products Laboratory and other U.S. Forest Service activities.
"SFPA is excited to host these two dynamic speakers for our 100th Anniversary Meeting," noted executive director Tami Kessler. "I know all attendees will enjoy their presentations, and benefit from their vast experience with our industry," she added.
