The Labor Department said last week that the U.S. economy added 211,000 nonfarm jobs in November, with 46,000 of those being in the construction industry. Most of the increase occurred in residential specialty trade contractors (+26,000). Residential saw a further gain of 6,300 general residential positions.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics said that during the last 12 months, approximately 259,000 jobs have been created in construction.
