The need for the website was made apparent following significant growth in the 55+ segment for the Taylor Morrison brand.
According to a 2015 Metrostudy report, 55+ homebuyers have grown from 15 percent to 31 percent of the market. By contrast, the number of new home closings among the same demographic has only risen from 15 to 18 percent. Additionally, while the number of active adult buyers has increased steadily since 2007, the percentage that buys a new home has not grown as quickly.
These numbers further support the decision to listen more closely to the company's 55+ homebuyers.
