| VANCOUVER -- (Dow Jones) Taiga Forest Products Ltd. has acquired a " major" building products distribution center from Louisiana-Pacific Corp., for an undisclosed amount.
In a news release, Taiga said the facility, in Rocklin, Calif., comprises 15 acres of land and 100,000 square feet of warehouse and covered storage space.
Taiga said this is its first significant investment in the U.S.
It said Louisiana-Pacific, a supplier and maker of building materials, has been one of its key suppliers since 1998.
The company said this acquisition "strengthens our relationship with ( Louisiana-Pacific), offers us greater product and market diversification, and provides Taiga with a foothold in the key U.S. market."
It said the Rocklin center distributes high-quality building material to retail, wholesale, home-building and industrial customers in California's Central Valley and San Francisco Bay areas, as well as in Western Nevada.
Taiga is a wholesale distributor of structural building materials.
