| DENVER -- (PRNewswire) Tomboy Tools has introduced a special edition pink hammer in partnership with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
The women's tool and home improvement educational company will make the "Pink for a Purpose" hammer available for $14.95, and donate $6.00 for each hammer sold. Tomboy Tools has committed to donating a minimum of $100,000 by August 30, 2007, but the goal is to sell 100,000 pink hammers over the next year, contributing $600,000 to the Komen Foundation.
Tomboy Tools has stayed away from pink tools in the past to get away from the stereotypes that exist about women and tools.
"One of our slogans at Tomboy Tools has always been No Pink Tools," said Janet Rickstrew, Tomboy Tools co-founder and CEO. "But, when we had the opportunity to partner with the Komen Foundation we decided to make an exception because this program gives us an opportunity to have a real impact in the fight against breast cancer."
