Chicago and Butler, Pa. - Dec. 10, 1996 - The future of dealer-owned
cooperatives Cotter & Co. and ServiStar Coast to Coast is now in their
members' hands.
On Dec. 10, 1996, 10,500 dealers affiliated with those companies received
a detailed package of information explaining the specifics of a merger
between the industry's first- and third-largest dealer-owned buying groups,
which was approved by each co-op's board of directors on Monday, 12-9-96.
If approved by the majority of dealers, the merged company will be called
TruServ Inc., with 10,500 dealer-members and sales to those dealers
exceeding $4.5 billion. The deal, which would take the form of a buyout by
Cotter of ServiStar's stock, could be completed by July 1, 1997.

Global Energy is pleased to announce its new product line in waste-oil
fired boilers. The units provide EPA APPROVED (UL/ULC Listed)
waste-oil fired cast-iron boilers perfect for shop or small building
heat. Units have a maximum size of 420,000 BTU/hr and use up to 3.0
GPH of Fuel Oil#2 or up to SAE 50 waste oil.
In some area's you can charge up to $1.00 per gallon for "disposing"
of waste oil. The boiler provides hot water up to 40 psi and has a
swing-out front mounted burner for ease in maintenance. This product
gives shop or mill owners a source of free heat and EPA approved
disposal of waste oil.
This unit will be used in several of the Global Energy Portable Aluminum
Kilns and is currently in use in thousands of applications throughout
