| IRVINE, CA --Standard Pacific Corp. has announced the promotion of Bruce F. Dickson to the newly established position of President of the Southeast Region. In this new position, Dickson will work with Mike Cortney, President of Standard Pacific Corp., to oversee the Company's extensive regional housing operations in Florida and the Carolinas.
Dickson is a veteran in the homebuilding industry, with more than 25 years of experience. He will continue in his role as President of Standard Pacific's homebuilding operations in Austin, Texas. Prior to taking that position in 2002, he held various leadership positions in homebuilding and financial services, including a Regional President position with one of the nation's Top 5 publicly traded homebuilding companies. In this previous position, Dickson oversaw divisions in several Southern states, including Florida.
Standard Pacific's entry into the Southeast Region was established through the acquisition of four local homebuilding companies in the past three years: Westfield Homes, Westbrooke Homes, Colony Homes and Coppenbarger Homes. This region is expected to account for approximately 35% of the Company's deliveries in 2004. "The experience and knowledge of the management teams of these acquired companies is tremendous, and Bruce's proven leadership and knowledge of the Southeast market will provide additional support as we move forward with our expansion plans in the region," said Cortney.
