| WINSTON-SALEM, NC -- Amarr Garage Doors has announced plans to begin manufacturing doors at a facility in North Carolina. The Carolina Plant will be located in Davie County, about 30 miles west of Amarr's corporate support center in Winston-Salem.
The plant will operate out of an existing 109,000 sq. ft. spec building. The facility will open for production on January 2, 2007 after offices inside the facility are built and additional dock doors are added.
The new manufacturing plant could create approximately 143 jobs over the next three years, once reaching full production. Amarr will initially produce only its Stratford line of garage doors at the plant, but could expand the building in order to produce additional models.
By adding this additional manufacturing facility, Amarr will be able to deliver products faster to East Coast garage door dealers. But Midwest and West Coast dealers will also benefit because the addition of another plant will provide supplemental capacity for the manufacturing facility in Lawrence, Kansas.
"Demand for our garage doors has grown significantly in recent years, and we certainly have a need for this manufacturing facility," Brenner added. "Amarr has always been committed to its dealers and to providing them the best product, in a reasonable amount of time. By opening this new facility, we are able to meet those goals."
Amarr is one of the world's leading manufacturers and distributors of residential and commercial garage doors. Established in 1951 by the Brenner family in Winston-Salem, NC, Amarr has grown to over 1,000 team members, operating three plants, and over 60 Door Centers in the United States, Mexico, Canada, and Hungary.
