HERC to Acquire Simplex Building Products

PORTSMOUTH, VA -- HERC Products Incorporated announced that it intends to acquire Simplex Building Products, Inc. The Company has also signed a management agreement to operate Simplex from now until the acquisition is closed. Simplex is creating a vertically integrated company in the over $30 billion building products industry with a particular emphasis on decking, railing, fencing and related vinyl and composite products.

HERC's Chairman and President Mr. S. Steven Carl stated: ''HERC is expanding our capacity to provide proprietary, value-added products to our customers. We currently provide proprietary chemical products that serve the federal government and local municipality markets. The acquisition of Simplex provides HERC with additional product lines that will generate demand both within our existing markets and create the opportunity to substantially expand our presence in the consumer marketplace.''

As previously reported, C. Clifford Wright, Jr., Chief Executive Officer of Simplex, has also been named Chief Executive Officer of HERC.

HERC Products Incorporated provides water and waste water system rehabilitation and renewal services, environmental tank cleaning and other corrosion control services utilizing its proprietary and patented chemistry and processes, which are currently used in cleaning, preservation and rehabilitation of marine, fire protection, potable water, industrial, wastewater treatment and other systems.
