| Reflecting current economic conditions that have more South Bay homeowners tackling smaller household projects rather than grand remodels, the San Jose Home Show returns to the San Jose Convention Center on April 25-27, 2008 to offer help with those "little projects."
The three-day event will include hundreds of home improvement vendors and renovation experts -- along with HGTV celebrities such as "Design Star's" Joshua Foss -- to offer tips and advice to homeowners on do-it-yourself tasks that make a big difference to a home's curb appeal and potential sales value.
Show attendees can receive one-on-one advice by visiting "The House Doctor Is In" exhibit, where on-site experts will serve up tips on everything from plumbing and roofing to kitchen and bath remodeling. In addition, for those interested in eco-design and green building, HGTV's Design Star contestant Joshua "Organic Josh" Foss, a green designer and sustainable lifestyle consultant, will take the main stage Friday, Saturday and Sunday to demonstrate how eco-friendly and sustainable home renovation can be an attractive and affordable option.
While Joshua helps bring the outside in, designer Jonathan Fong will help bring inside living out. As a regular on HGTV's "Your Home" and "Smart Solutions," Jonathan's quick wit and flair for the unexpected has won him fans and clients the world over. As the San Jose Home Show's special guest, Jonathan will take the main stage Friday and Saturday where he'll offer step-by-step advice on throwing outdoor parties that guests will remember.
Other key attractions at the upcoming show include:
-- The Complete Backyard -- an area dedicated to patio furniture,
barbecues and outdoor living decor
-- Kids' Workshops hosted by Home Depot -- Home Depot representatives
will teach little ones do-it-yourself skills and tool safety throughout the weekend
