| ISH North America 2008 (ISH NA) has announced its 2008 seminar program. The program includes educational sessions focused on presenting business strategies for achieving success in the Plumbing, Commercial/Industrial Pipes, Valves & Fittings, HVAC, and Kitchen & Bath markets served by this international trade show.
Sessions feature marketing, operations, product and strategy instruction by some of the top names in the industry.
"Developing a well-rounded seminar program is one of the most important elements of ISH NA's planning," said Daniel McKinnon, executive vice president of Messe Frankfurt, the show's organizer. "A committee of experts from the industry's leading associations was instrumental in pulling together this high-end conference. The invaluable input provided was essential to the creation of such an extraordinary educational opportunity. Our team is excited about the range and relevance of educational opportunities the conference is offering to exhibitors and attendees for 2008."
On the marketing front, Adams Hudson, owner and president of Hudson, Inc., a contractor marketing firm, will demonstrate how contractors should be using marketing in his two seminars, "Contractor Marketing – 'Secrets Your Competition Does Not Want You to Know'" and "How to Put High-Performance Plumbing Marketing in Your Company Instantly." A full "Marketing Makeover" worth $24,000 will be given away to one conference attendee.
Also addressing marketing techniques is "7 Marketing Secrets Every Designer and Contractor Must Know," led by Melissa Galt, interior designer, author and national speaker to the design and home building trade, and "Selling to the Residential Market" with Sean Jacobs, the co-owner and surfaces specialist for JP Kitchen Design Studio in Wisconsin. These sessions are sponsored by Cygnus Business Media.
From human resources to cash management, operations will also be covered in the educational sessions. In his seminar "Performance-Based Pay Compensation Plans for Field Personnel," Dr. Ron Collier, president of Collier Consulting Group, will talk about the types of performance-based pay systems, which reward productive workers, and how businesses can implement them. "Is There a Cash Flaw in Your Cash Flow?" will also be hosted by Collier, and will discuss how to organize cash flows to project for success.
The always hot topic of acquisitions will also be covered. Ellen Rohr, president and founder of Bare Bones Biz, a columnist for Plumbing & Mechanical Magazine and author of three books, will describe how to value companies in order to make advantageous purchases in "Buying Companies – Not Just a 'Big Company' Opportunity." Rohr will also host "Selling Companies – Creating Wealth and a Way Out." She will discuss industry opportunities, how to accumulate wealth, and how to create wealth-building opportunities for employees.
Additional seminars geared toward creating business success are "Recession-Proofing Your Business: Strategies for Success" and "Adding Value for You and Your Customer – Ramping Up Your Pre-Construction Services," both led by Kirk Alter, Purdue University's associate professor of Building Construction Management and the president of Fast Management, Inc. Addressing how businesses can analyze their place within the market to plan for long-term success and creating a pre-construction services component, which will improve a business's marketability, these sessions are must-attends.
On the design and product side, Melissa Galt will present "Designing Kitchens that 'Multi-Task'" and Julius Ballanco will cover "Residential Sprinklers."
The program also features a series of sessions that focus on new efficient technologies and renewable energy. For more information on these dynamic sessions and a full agenda, please visit our seminar schedule at www.ish-na.com
