Florida Building Material Association to Offer OSHA Recognized Training Webinars

MOUNT DORA, FL -- The Florida Building Material Association (FBMA) has made it easier than ever to obtain OSHA recognized safety education with its new Hard Hat Safe-T-Zone webinar series. Beginning in August 2009, FBMA will present a series of webinars including fire safety, housekeeping, material handling, electrical safety, slips, trips and falls, and how to achieve and maintain a drug free workplace. Each topic will be covered twice a month on different days and times to accommodate multiple shifts and positions in need of training. The duration of each webinar will vary between 20-30 minutes and will include a question and answer period. Following the webinar, each registrant will be e-mailed a certificate of completion for the webinar attended, as well as PDF's or helpful documents of materials covered.

Fire Safety, the first webinar in the Hard Hat Safe-T-Zone series, will be held August 13 and 25 at 7:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. in eastern, central, mountain and pacific time zones.

With over 25 years of management and safety training experience, FBMA's Director of Safety, Phil Copare, will present each webinar in the Hard Hat Safe-T-Zone series. With a masters in business from Rollins College and bachelors in building construction from the University of Florida, Phil is a certified OSHA instructor and has provided consulting services to notable clients such as the Associated Builders & Contractors, Inc.; National Center for Construction Education and Research; and Everglades University.

For a nominal fee of $50.00 per logged on computer, companies can register both employees and customers for the Hard Hat Safe-T-Zone webinar series. For users operating a personal computer, the computer should be operating on Windows 2000 or higher. MAC users will need a version of OS X 10.4 (Tiger) or higher. Audio is available by use of telephone, or a computer with speakers and a microphone.
