The founder, CEO and President of BuildingOnline, Alan Wickstrom, has been chosen Dana Point's 2009 Citizen of the Year by the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce. The award will be presented at the chamber's installation dinner and annual meeting Jan. 14, 2010, at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott resort in Dana Point, California.
''I love Dana Point and am deeply humbled by my fellow chamber member's recognition of my volunteer duties'' said Wickstrom, ''I want to thank my wife and daughter for their amazing support and to BuildingOnline's amazing staff of web professionals for giving me the time and support needed for me to volunteer. I would also like to thank the members of my Monarch Beach Rotary Club for their nomination and support.''
Alan has been an active local volunteer for many years now. He has been a member of the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce since 1996 and is an active Paul Harris Fellow Rotarian and member of the Monarch Beach Sunrise Rotary Club, Past President of the SOCSA Foundation (South Orange County School of the Arts), board advisor to Dana Point Coastal Arts, Board Member of the Dana Point 5th Marine Support Group and board advisor of the Italian American Opera Foundation in Southern California.
